Billed (innacurately, but who cares?) as the world's first "green movie," Sex Galaxy is more like Woody Allen's Zelig by way of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and What's Up, Tiger Lily?, a film comprised of recycled and repurposed archival and documentary footage augmented by wraparound scenes featuring Puma Swede as "Willa," a tasty future being encountered by astronauts.
Directed by Mike Davis of Stag Films, the same company that released the Mary Carey movie Pervert! in 2005, Sex Galaxy will premiere in a free double feature with Pervert! on June 26 at the New Beverly Theatre. The show begins at 7:30.
The one new scene in the movie was shot in Malibu and features Swede as the character played by Mamie Van Doren in the stock footage. "So Puma is essentially playing (Van Doren's) 'body double,' but I don't like using that term because she is so much more than that," said director Davis.
