The non-event that was the possibility of Stephen Baldwin showing up cast a momentary pall over what was otherwise a fun evening at Porn Star Karaoke last night.Sponsoring the festivities was SllabWurks, producers of The New Neighbors. I arrived in Hollywood fashion to find that, to my surprise, people were wearing costumes. Thinking quickly, I told people that I'd come as G-d seeking porn blogger Lurk Ford.
"Dingoes ate my original religion," I said.
My ex wife showed up. I thought it was one of those Tell-Tale Heart things until I realized everyone could see her.
Stephen Baldwin has apparently found Jesus and, as part of a VH-1 reality show (VH-1 loves porn because the budgets are similar), was set to come to Porn Star Karaoke in order, perhaps, to provide titillation fodder. This never happened, but got people excited anyway.
Instead, representatives of other attention-seeking Christian groups were there, but not as many as were at last weekend's Erotic Exotic Ball.
The other excitement was that a man dressed as Guy Fawkes/Hugo Weaving in V for Vendetta was kicked out after he got perilously close to Lexi Lamour, seen here smoking with Ethan Cage.
Then this woman carefully traced each of the revolving stag heads on my Jagermeister shirt.
"I like everything that begins with J," she said. "Jagermeister, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam..."
"Yukon Jack?" I suggested.
"You're cheating," she said.
"If I'm cheating my name isn't Jram."
