For as long as there have been playing cards there has been porn printed on them. That is why this Thursday's benefit for b.a.b.e. (Breast Awareness Benefits Everyone) at the Hollywood Park Casino will take the form of a Texas Hold 'Em tournament featuring porn stars and their hangers-on.b.a.b.e. was founded by Marcia Hrichison, a breast cancer survivor. She noticed that breast cancer charities were decidedly unsexy. "Pink kitchen appliances, pink scarves, pink bracelets, pink cookbooks, pink bears," she wrote following her mastectomy. "Where were the men? Breast cancer attacks breasts. Who appreciates breasts more than men? Breasts are sexy."
It might seem odd to have as a spokesmodel for a breast cancer charity a woman with an abundantly healthy set of artificial ones, but Taylor Wane (pictured) is the official "Babe-a-Rella" this year, and she will be presiding over Thursday's tournament along with Carmen Luvana, Stormy Daniels, Flower Tucci, Joanna Angel, Sunny Lane, Nikki Benz, and Nautica Thorn.
There will also be a silent auction for prizes like a non-sex cameo role in an Adam & Eve movie, use of Seymore Butts' party bus for an evening, a Suze Randall photo shoot, and a coveted judgeship in an upcoming Pussy Party.
Of particular interest among the auction items is one of them Giclee prints of Taylor Wane, one of four made by the artist Olivia. The print is signed by both Wane and Olivia. I will sign it too, seeing as how I don't know what Giclee means.
The buy-in for the tournament is $250. Proceeds go to organizations like the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund at Philadelphia's Fox Chase Cancer Center, Tulane University, and the Westside Family Health Center, Los Angeles.
