PPPcard users can access pornographic content anonymously (well, whatever 'anonymously' means lately) to avoid recriminations, exile, and shunning.
One could argue that wanting a mask to buy things that are legal to purchase is a step backward, but if porn didn't carry a certain stigma, no one would want it.
