Like Adam and Eve, our first ancestors who were created by God, I have learned the value of remaining ignorant. That is why I didn't pay too much attention when I started hearing the name "The Nasty Boys" bandied about porn circles.NastyBoys.com, for example, is a gay site, and I lack the critical eye and personal authenticity to review gay material.
But The other Nasty Boys, who are Chris Bonneville and David Monroe (pictured L-R here with Sophie Dee and Summer Haze) , have created personas who will host what they hope will be a porn-flavored HBO variety show called The Nasty Boys' Happy Hour.
"It will be like the old Tonight Show mixed with some Benny Hill," Bonneville said. Bonneville, 53, plays Big Daddy Mac Nasty, a cigar-chewing Southside Chicago bastard.
"People say we look like The Blues Brothers," Bonneville said. "What they don't realize is that everybody on the south side of Chicago dressed like this."
The variety show will consist of sketches (Sophie Dee plays a naughty weathergirl and Tia Brodie plays a "psycho-analist"), remote shoots, and interviews as well as L.A. speed-metal band Eating Alice.
Bonneville and his wife produced "very low budget" porn movies in Palmdale before hooking up with Dane Productions. "We used Palmdale strippers," he said. But the couple ran into problems with distributors and made very little money.
The Nasty Boys personas were created this year. "There's Big Daddy Mac Nasty," Bonneville said, "and he's just nasty. He jumps on girls and squeezes their tits. Then there's his wayward son, Dick Nasty, who's a little more suave."
I suggested it was like Harpo Marx and Laugh-In and Hee-Haw with fewer content restrictions.
"Yes."
Bonneville is filming a pilot on Sunday for HBO and, if the show gets picked up, he wants to tape his first HBO Happy Hour in Vegas during convention week. "If not, we're still going to release a DVD of The Nasty Boys Happy Hour Raw" (in which, apparently, Annie Cruz gives a fisting denmonstration).
"I see (HBO's) Real Sex and shows like that and, while they're interesting, they're not entertaining. I want this show to be a lot of fun."
I want this show to be a lot of fun, too. I am tired of sobbing during porn shoots. This sadnesss needs to stop.
