Kansas considers porn tax

Kansas is a state of contradictions. It is the home of anti-porn Senator Sam Brownback and pro-Viagra former Senator Bob Dole. It is the home of the dog-loving woman who cut the fetus out of an Internet friend and claimed the child as her own. It was the home of William S. Burroughs and Dorothy Gale.

Now Kansas is considering adding a ten percent tax on items purchased in adult establishments, following the lead of similar proposals in Utah and Oklahoma.

"Rep. Kenny Wilk, R-Lansing, the vice chairman, said the panel decided to go forward with the proposal because of testimony it heard last month about reported connections between such businesses and sex crimes."

So it's OK to commit a sex crime if you can afford it? Only the more affluent should be allowed to have porn? I don't get it.
